About Jungle Medical Missions Uganda

About Us

Since its inception in 2012, Jungle Medical Missions Uganda has been at the forefront in accelerating the provision of access to free and highly subsidised quality health care services to less privileged people in highly critical and vulnerable communities, mainly in Uganda and some parts of East Africa.

Jungle Medical Missions Uganda (JMMU) is a fully registered Non-Profit Medical Missions’ Organization.

Much as our operations improve access to and uptake of health care services among the vulnerable populations, now we know that our mobile model of operation is insufficient.
We grapple with challenges of patient follow-up, providing specialized care outside the hospital setting, and attending to critically ill patients promptly.

In light of these challenges, we realized the need to shift from providing only mobile health care services to adding static health facilities in various regions across the country. It is upon this background that the 1st Community Hospital was conceived as a means to achieving our vision of “Restoring health and Rebuilding dreams”.

Full Project Details

In 2019, Jungle Medical Missions initiated a two-dimensional maternal child health program. “She’s a Hero” (Omukyala Muzira) is purposed to support underprivileged mothers throughout antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to mitigate the 3 delays and thereby reduce the Maternal Mortality rate in Uganda.

Every year, Jungle Medical Missions conducts medical outreach programs in the most vulnerable communities in Uganda, where we dispense medicines, conduct primary health care campaigns and offer free treatment to more than 3000 people.

Along with our in-house local Ugandan doctors, medical professionals from different parts of the world commit and donate their time, skill and expertise to restore health and rebuild dreams through our medical outreaches.
